Artist Statement
To me, art is its own powerful language. It can express strong emotions, deep convictions, and passionate ideals. I work to communicate intimacy, beauty, and clarity to create visual experiences that invite reflection and empathy. I want to inspire connection, not confrontation by stressing optimism and creative energy.
I love seeing, hearing, feeling—and most of all—making art. The creative process allows me to experience a calm and focus, offering balance amidst the fast pace and competitive routine of daily life. Art is my pathway to a joyful life. It grounds me, challenges me, and allows me to express what words cannot.
And I believe making art is not satisfying without sharing it. The public experience of art is part of its power. It’s in that exchange—between artist and viewer—that meaning is discovered and community is formed. In a world that favors technology and science, may we never forget how the arts add that intangible spirit of creativity without which life would be incomplete.

ASSOCIATIONS AND SHOWS:
• Member of West Coast Drawing group:
o Group shows in Western USA plus participation in traveling show in Taiwan.
• Member of 50/50 Artist Organization
• Principal for Studio C Gallery in El Cajon 2019-2022
• Coordinator, of Paisanos/USA, a multinational artist movement (PAISANOS) started in
2018 and still growing today (groups in Taiwan and France in process of being organized.)
o PAISANOS USA has held group shows in California, in San Diego, Fallbrook, San
Bernardino; USA/MEX shows in 5 CEARTE locations, Baja California; USA/MX/SP
shows in 2020, 2022 in several locations in Spain.
• Participant in Juried International Show at SDWS, 2016, 2018 and 2021 in San Diego, CA.
• ARTE ESTANDARTE with Ligia Santillanos and Patty Roa. Banner displays in airports and
galleries throughout Mexico and USA
• Participation in exhibition at the San Diego International Airport celebrating the choice of
the combined neighboring cities of San Diego & Tijuana as the 2024 World Design
Capital.
